Events and Trips

There are a variety of discounted events and trips available throughout the year for Ethos members.

*Due to the global pandemic we have been unable to offer our usual selection of European breaks, however we hope to be able to provide some UK based trips in the coming months.

The main event each year is the Home Office sports day, held on the last Friday in July.

The very special Platinum Sports and Wellbeing Day!!

2023 Sports and Wellbeing day is fast approaching and now is the time to get you and your teams applications in. Sports and wellbeing day is open to ALL HO staff and family. This year we are working with CSSC and you can now REGISTER ONLINE

Participation in the annual Home Office Sports Day not only promotes health and wellbeing but also provides an opportunity for us all to develop team working skills within and between directorates. With the success of inclusive activities (including blind football) last year there will be inclusive sports and activities available again at this accessible venue (registration available on the day).

Families are encouraged to attend and this year we have a designated children’s camp for 4 – 13 year olds.  There will be taster sessions and fully supervised activities throughout the day. Again, you can REGISTER ONLINE for tickets.

We will also have several Partners and Networks in attendance on the day who will be providing training and support.

Volunteers to help with the running of the day are always welcome.  If you are willing to help with any of the events at Sports Day, please REGISTER ONLINE.  Helpers are always needed as referees/umpires/assistants - you don’t need to be qualified, however, CSSC are offering some training if you would like to become an umpire/referee. Or you can help in the general organisation of Sports Day as stewards, both in the office and around the venue.

Please note the closing date for entries is Friday 17th July, 2023.

The Home Office Sports Day 2021

Kings House Sports Ground, Riverside Drive, Chiswick, London W4 2SH

Sport plays a fundamental role in the health of any organisation, developing leadership; teamwork, strong values and a sense of community. For a long time now, physical activity has been associated with a wide range of psychological benefits. Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, trauma and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, aids restful sleep, and boosts overall mood. Research indicates that even modest amounts of exercise can make a difference, so no matter your age, fitness level, or ability you can learn to use exercise as a powerful tool to feel better.
